The results of the study suggest that myopia, or nearsightedness, becomes more prevalent as educational attainment goes up. Among people with no secondary school attainment, only 24% were nearsighted, while for secondary school graduates and vocational school graduates, 35% had nearsightedness. As for university graduates, a staggering 53% had the condition. So, apparently, the popular belief does hold some degree of truth—at least, in terms of the relationship between eyeglasses and increased knowledge.
